Small Updates

Small Update
The fact is that the time I'm spending on MineCraft is not worth the returns.
I have to remake the Ambrosia map. Overhaul to update devices and ideas.

War in Haven (Multiplayer Map)

What I've been working on the past two days is a multiplayer, team-based map.

This is just a fun side project. I was thinking "why has no one thought up with this yet?" So, here it is.

Here's a forum post telling more about it.

Trucking Along

The reason for my slow progress in my single player is because I'm waiting on some new content. I really want new content, the game is getting old if you play it over and over.

In the meantime, I've made some real progress with Ambrosia. Look.

Day Eight Update 10-12-11

After a few days of working on Ambrosia, I've got a lot done with the map. However, it is far from being released.

Two spawners next to each other... I smell an experience farm...
Done. I'm thinking of killing them using a piston, but it'll be inefficient because they fall and take damage. The spawners spawns spiders within a 8x8x3 box with the spawner being on the south-west of the center. I dug the ground out and placed streams of water to lead them towards this point. I was having trouble because they didn't seem to be collecting correctly. I solved this by smoothing out the walls.

Other than that, the past few days I've been strip mining. I came across two abandoned mine shafts; weird that I haven't found a decent sized cave system yet. I gained a half stack of iron blocks today.

To remind everyone, the "day" in the title is the amount of days I've spent on the world. I've only clocked in three days since I've been working on Ambrosia. I'll be updating the statistic page soon.

Ambrosia's Lighting System

I had the time to check on the lighting system today...

What I found was disturbing. It's not operating correctly. I was working the last time I tested it, now the glowstone acts just like glass. No redstone signal passes through the glowstone when the repeated is active. I don't know if this is a change that came in 1.0 or a glitch. Whatever the case, if this doesn't get fixed, the map will be delayed.

EDIT:
Solved. Now, I need to replace all of the lights with this...

Slowly

Nothing to report. I've been pelted by a lot of school work and life.
Things won't be fun if I feel obligated to get stuff done rather than me doing it because I want to. A new structure in Ambrosia. Yay.

Day Five Update 26-11-11 Digging

I've been doing a lot of mining and I found a huge system with an abandoned mine shaft.
Unfortunately, I died and lost all these goodies.

Day Three Update 23-11-11 No Diamonds?

This is the third day of work in my new world and I've found a total of ZERO diamonds! It is reasonable since I only went mining for about an hour so far, not even to the deep layers.
I also haven't explored much, so I have not idea of the other areas around me. I finished my house and wheat farm.
I have a temporary tree farm with eleven trees. I could plant more, but I don't need that many yet.

In other news, I created a test world to test my inventions for my adventure map. The biggest problem I face is creeper explosions. I'll need to add a layer of obsidian so the floor won't leave a hole. As long as a stone wall is shielding the redstone wiring, they'll be alright.

Day One Update 19-11-11 I Hate Creepers

Creeper explosion number one and two!

Today I've started a new world called "New Worlded". I've done a lot today. Time to hit the hay.

Minecraft 1.0... Maybe...

They sure are taking their time releasing it. In the meantime, take a look at the lights under my adventure map super-structure. So many complex redstone wiring. You should be impressed.

Skipping Beta 1.9?

It's a little weird when you think about it. The official release of Minecraft will be out on Friday and Beta 1.9. haven't even come out officially yet. Weird, isn't it?

I heard that Minecraft is really buggy at this point, especially with me, and so I'm deciding to begin my new world when the official release is out.

Reboot

I'm still going to work on the adventure map, however I'll be starting fresh in a new survival map soon. I'm wondering if I should create it in the pre-release of Beta 1.9 or not.

I just found that the world generation will be broke if I create a 1.8 world now. It'll be bugged when updated to Beta 1.9.

A New World again?!

I really like the things I created in Minecraft, I wanted to keep them in a new world because I knew Beta 1.8 would mess up my old world. But now, it doesn't even feel like a survival world to me anymore.

I'm tried of justifying the need to keep my works. I'm going to start again fresh and begin a new world. I'll keep my old world to look at, but the things I plan are not going to happen in the world I have.

The main focus of this is to re-motivate me to start back in survival and to do all the things I planned to.

Ambrosia - Lighting

Many and many piston lights. Theses are part of a in-game cut scene where the lights go out. Needless to say, it'll drop your frame rate.

Deep Space Turtle Chase

I posted a review of it on the Minecraft forums.

I was interested in it once it was announced by Captain Sparkles.

I think it was a bit over-hyped.

Update 12-10-11

I'm sorry if I've been inactive lately. I've been a caught in a wave of school and college work. I had little time to do any Minecraft things other than working on my adventure map.

I'm sure my usual rotation will return sometime next week.

Ambrosia Release Date!

It's hard to declare a release date because it's been an on and off project. However, I feel if I continue on this steady pace I'll release my adventure map the beginning of next year. I've been working on it for around thirty hours total now. I hope you like it when it does come out. I plan it to be a good six hours of your time.

Release Date: February 2012

Update 25-9-11 Laziness?

Just to give you guys a little update, I'm caught in a wave of school work and discouragement of continuing my single player world. I don't like to be pressured into doing something I don't want to or need to do.

I'm still going to work on my single player, but I'll take my time and work on my adventure map more. I haven't worked on it for a while.

Update 22-9-11 Helios the Great Library!

Imgur Gallery

Yes, Helios is a library. I plan to make it my main base as soon as I build the rail system. Nothing much to say. Imagine how long my City will take. Although I'm not as active with Minecraft right now because of the bugs. It's getting kind of frustrating.

I'm really annoyed on how many torches I need to get Helios lit up. I'm estimating over two thousand. In my opinion, Notch should lower the light levels in which hostile mobs can spawn to around five instead of seven.

Update 21-9-11 Terraforming

I've been busy with school work. I'm in my senior year of high school so I needed to work on my college stuff.

I've been digging the misplaced dirt in Helios from the transfer. I already got an idea for a what to do with the ground under Helios. But first, I need to actually complete Helios. For now, I'm digging up dirt.

I'm also working on a new transit rail system. This system will stretch from Nimbus to Helios, a total around 1200 meters. I already built a cobblestone bridge to travel to and from Helios more efficiently.

In other news, I fixed my farming island on Nimbus. I'm growing melons on it as we speak.

Update 17-9-11 Helios Transfer Successful!

Imgur Gallery

The Vortex has successfully brought Helios from another world. The side effects are as shown. A plot of land has been carried to this world just like Nimbus did, however this is more damaging. I'll dig it out, so don't worry. I expect to release pictures of Helios' interior soon, along with my intentions for the base.

I got four stacks of iron ore which I can't smelt because of the furnace glitch.

Update 16-9-11 Nimbus Transfer Successful! Sort of...

Imgur Galley Click the "Nimbus Progress" Album to see the screenshots.

The Space- Time Vortex worked! Nimbus has been teleported from "Medieval or Something" to "A Whole new World". However, I got the coordinates a little wrong. Nimbus is now six blocks lower than it's original altitude. I have to make sure the same doesn't happen to Helios. I'll also back up my world.

What I plan to do is make best of a bad situation and continue with Nimbus like that, stuck in the ground a bit. I think this could work out since I could build houses on ground level. My vision isn't destroyed completely.

In other news, I've been mining and got lots of iron.

Update 15-9-11 Home Sweet Home

Day two of my New World:

I can say that this continent is large enough to be the location of my capital city. Today, I set off to explore more to find locations for Helios and Nimbus to be pasted. I'm quite happy with the results of the world generator. I built a little temporary base near my spawn point when I was done exploring on day one.

From now on, I'll be posting all of my good screenshots to Imgur for your viewing pleasure.

Update 14-9-11 Beta 1.8! Onward!

After going through several new worlds, I've found the perfect world to build my capital city. This city, I plan it to be 1,500 by 1,500 blocks. It'll take a long time.

Before transferring Nimbus and Helios, I need to make sure everything is set and ready. Be prepared for a lot more updates from me. Stay tuned.

Update 10-9-11 Multiplayer servers

I've been playing on some multiplayer servers and it's quite fun.
This is a timer mechanism I built on the server. Eighty-four redstone repeaters in a row set to four ticks. That equals sixty seconds. When the current goes to reset and start over, it triggers the powered rails. This sends a mine cart to the next unpowered rail. Every time a rail is powered and releases the mine cart, it will hit a detector rail. The each detector rail will send a current up.

So, every minute the current being sent up will changed. This a good set up for a clock tower I plan to build in my Capital city. However, if the player walks away, the redstone timer will stop. I feel that this isn't really a big problem.

Helios will have to be completed after Beta 1.8. All I've done is the endless cycle of gather material and placing it on Helios. I think I'm close to forty-thousand blocks.

Redstone Multi-Setting button

This is a good twenty minutes of work here figuring this out. This is not what I wanted, however I would like to share this with you guys before I search for a solution.
 First State.
 Second State.
 Third State.
Fourth State. The outputs are the torches on the third layer of the wiring.
When the button is pressed, the RS nor latch triggers and goes into it's second state.
The RS nor will activate the redstone repeaters and deactivate the one torch on this double lock. A second circuit is sent when the button is pressed and travels to the right of the wiring to deactivate the second torch. The delay the repeaters give enough time so the wiring won't reset itself.
From the double lock, the circuit travels to another cycle of RS nors and Double locks. The more cycles it has, the more states the button will have when you toggle it.

At the end of the "cycles" there is a Double lock with no Rs nor to continue it. This acts as the reset. The second circuit from the button will end at the second torch of the Double lock.

The main purpose of building this is for a project I plan for in my Capital City. The three possible outputs aren't suppose to stay off when I press the button after the second press. It's suppose to be three possible outputs with only one staying active while I'm pressing to change the states. Solution please?

Update 04-9-11 Clouds can pass through walls

Just to give you guys an update on Helios: I hate clouds so much.

Update 29-8-11 Pre-Beta 1.8 Preparations

You'll know how long this took me. I don't play Minecraft all the time, I play on and off. Although my playing sessions have been unusually long because of Helios and Nimbus. There is nothing to report on Nimbus, I'm going to leave it as is. I'm considering it complete as I'm going to use the islands as I go on with my other projects.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to finish Helios post-Beta 1.8 most likely. So much to do, not enough time in the day to them. That is impressive isn't it? A handmade glass hemisphere with no cheats.

Update 19-8-11 Helios Progress "Full Steam"

I'm holding on my Adventure Map to meet my deadline with Nimbus and Helios. The time needed to gather the material and place it is really time consuming. Which means I won't be working on the Adventure map for a while. It'll be better if I continued it after Beta 1.8 anyhow.

Update 13-8-11 Helios Update

This is my Helios progress. I hope you like it. It is about 30% complete right now.

Update 10-8-11 Slow progress

Waiting for beta 1.8 and having so little to do within that time. Progress have been slow. However, I expect to finish Nimbus and Helios by the end of August.

Update 4-8-11 Ambrosia: The Origin

The adventure map I'm currently working on is suppose to a prequel to the first. The push back of Beta 1.8 was the cause of the change of many of my planned projects.

To give you guys an update, I've been making slow progress on Helios and Nimbus.

I've mostly been working on my adventure map "Ambrosia: The Origin". I'm not really that creative when it comes to names.

This map will relay heavily on story elements but the gameplay should be the same even if you don't read any of the story. I won't be giving the story away, I'll wait for you guys to try the map. Then, you guys can bash me about it if you don't like it.

Adventure Map!

Since Beta 1.8 isn't coming out anytime soon, I'll be working on an Adventure map along with my new Helios project. I'll release more information as the days go on about Helios and my Adventure map. I'll not be applying any cheats used to make this map with my single player world, it's still legit.

Lava Failure

I should have looked up lava before doing anything.
It took three stacks of wood to repair the Inn.

Update 25-7-11 Farmville

I finished my farming island today. If I hit the lever, the sticky pistons will retract and let the water flow to collect everything.

This island can produce about 258 wheat at a time. I don't think I need that much bread.
