Small Updates

Small Update
The fact is that the time I'm spending on MineCraft is not worth the returns.
I have to remake the Ambrosia map. Overhaul to update devices and ideas.

Update 16-11-12

I'm still working on the new location for my new base, however I'm finding it hard to get everything I need without having to go resource collecting. The river I'm filling in is taking up all of my dirt and sand blocks. In other news, I'm back to map making. With the help of Khare's Noclip, I can work on Ambrosia again. Also, I have to say that the latest updates of MineCraft has had a real significant change on the mechanisms in the map. In the meanwhile, I'll be working on a little side project.

Day Fifty-three Ugh

I'v been working hard in college, so I'm afraid I didn't do much. Well, I did which resulted in not much. I'm currently filling in a river so I'll have a flat surface to build my base on. That's pretty much it. The placement of my base is very important because it'll decide the orientation of the city. I send a lot of time figuring the place I want to build. In other news, I finally built a nether portal to the city, making my rail useless. I'll clean it up later.

Day Fifty No More Mining

I made a iron golem farm. It's the same one shown in docm77's video. Every time I'm in the area, the chance of spawning an iron golem resumes. Assuming that I'm always in there area, this one cell gives in roughly a stack of iron ingots a hour. Coupled with the trading with the villagers, I don't think I need to mine anymore.

Day Forty Four Marking My Claim

Nothing really happening especially with me sick for four days. I've added another floor to the endermen farm, it's really faster than the blaze farm. Besides that, I've been caving a lot, lighting a lot of underground within the city's boundaries. I've also spent many blocks of iron on rails connecting my base to my building spot in the city, it runs underground and it's suppose to be temporary until a real rail system is made. I don't intend to use Nether portals much. I need to make an iron golem farm.

Day Thirty-eight College is easy compared to this

I'm sorry for skipping last week's update. I've just been busy. I have been playing the times I can. But, after all this time of building up my production, I'm ready to start building the city.
I'm going to need a lot of TnT to blow away large hills. I'm not thinking of making the land completely linear. I want some variation so I'm going to leave the flat lands alone.
While exploring the area of interest for the placement of the city. I've got distracted a lot. I've decided to use a map maker to make a isometric map of my world and indicate the land with least amount of water. I'll post a picture of my world later.
 I'm organizing my stuff.
After hours of manually laying cobblestone, I've finally looped the circle of the layout of the wall of the city. The circular wall has a 1001 diameter. When I reached the other end of the circle, I wasn't accurate enough to have the two ends meet.
Meh.

Day Thirty-three Dying a lot is a bad thing

It is time to fight the enderdragon! However, dying repeatedly was not part of the plan.
I had to watch the sky constantly for the dragon, and when I died the first time from an enderman, I lost all my stuff and I was naked. Well, my good armor was gone. I had little protection on when fighting it, so I died a lot. Fortunately, I was able to get my stuff back a few times.
Well, dying got to a point where I had to dig a tunnel from my base to the portal to save time. Well, once I dug it I didn't really need it for the fight. The orbs that were high was particularly annoying.
I didn't think it went as smoothly as I intended.
I got a silk touch pick and a fortune III pick, so I went caving with the silk touch and came home to use fortune III on the ores. I won't be worrying about coal for a while.
My villagers are breeding like crazy. It seems my mega spawner is working.
It is time to upgrade to an endermen farm. It'll provide better rates and a bit more exp.
Each level of this farm has 44 spawning space, which is a lot considering we are anyway from the main island in The End. Each floor has the next floor as a two high ceiling so the enderman can't spawn there and it serves as a guide for the enderman to fall down within the area. There is a layer of vines on the 44th level so no matter how high they fall, I'll be able to one-shot them.
I decided I'm building one part cobble and the other snow. I've always liked the cobble-snow design.
Here's what it looks like.
So far, I've only have three floors completed and the spawn and experience rates practically match the blaze farm. It's worth it, considering I fell off three times making this so far.

Day Twenty-eight Everything

Perhaps I should upload more often so my posts won't have to be so long. Whatever.
After a bit of caving, I was in search of cats and dogs. The cats were a pain to capture, it kept running away from me. It's probably because I'm a dog person.
The jungle I found them in is across a mountain so I had to use my tunnel from the beach to get them through.
After a few days, it became apparent that theses guys aren't breeding. I had to take things into my own hands.
A twenty-five door mega-breeder. This will get the villagers to breed.
Within seconds, they started mating. Although their population steady increase, I'm unsure if they'll pass the limit of 100 doors.
It seems I'll have to deal with walkers after all. They spawned in some of the apartment units too. Lucky I was there, if they had spawned at any other time, they would've all been killed.
I finally got a paper trade. It's also a low paper count for the trade, which is good. It's also the villager I trapped in the mega-breeder so I can access him anytime.
What sugar cane problem? The way the water is placed is 100% efficient with the amount of water there is. All the water blocks have a lily pad so I won't fall in and they also have light from jack-o-lanterns. This is in front of my house, I planned to make this a dock, but there's no point now.
In about three harvests, I get enough for about 200 emeralds. I'm practically rich now.
I made diamonds a renewable resource. I have unlimited diamond tools and armor.
While enchanting my new diamond stuff, I went AFK in front of my blaze farm. I got to about 200 blaze, lagged like hell, then I broke the glass from all the lag. I should have stopped at 100.
Nothing to say here.

How did I find this stronghold with only two Eye of Enders? Algebra. I'm going to college in three weeks so I just refreshed myself. It has something to do with the laws of sin and trigonometry. Through my calculations, I came up with the coordinates, x: -50, z: 742. I dug underneath and I found some stronghold area.

I had to wonder a bit because my numbers are only an estimate, but I found it. It was actually pure luck that I did have to throw another eye.
It's not like I'll ever use it anyway. I think I need to give you a tour of my world.

Day Twenty-four Unlimited

With nothing really else to do, I started caving the systems I found when I tunneled to the village. One of them is massive.
I decided it was time to start the blaze farm.

I decided to go with the normal piston style, it is efficient and it costs little to make. I suppose this is the same style Etho made.

This farm took me about four hours in total and is functional at a reasonable pace. The time between cycles are very long. If I were to choose between the spawn tower and the blaze farm, it would be the blaze farm since it is a bit faster.
Instead of using pistons, I took advantage of the new feature with the dispensers dispensing liquids.
Down at the bottom of the farm is a crusher device which suffocates the blazes so I can hit them to death. When I press the button, it sends a signal to the redstone repeaters and to the memory cell. When this memory is on the other state, it well cause four pistons to extend and crush the blaze. When the signal gets to the cell, it'll turn the state and retract the pistons.
Since I didn't see much kids in the village I decided to add another level to the village. Perhaps I'll need to do that again.
I started trading with the villagers and they have a lot of bad deals. There is only one librarian in there and I need the paper trade to get emeralds. I know there is a wheat trade but wheat grows slower and with less yield. I traded with him a few times and still no paper trade. Anyway, I added the level with a total of 75 houses, they started mating again. It also spawned an iron golem.
This cave is huge.

Day Twenty Finished

The problems continue as I tried to get these villagers to my base. They constantly disappear on me so I need to re-log into my world repeatedly to get them to appear. I found that the glitch only happens when they are in mine carts so I try to keep them off it when I can.
I only have five stakes of rails with me so I have to stop and put the villagers in a temporary shelter in a wall. Then, I mine the rails back to place on the next leg. I had to travel 2000 blocks this way.
I made it, all I need to due is get the village set up now. Good thing the glitch didn't freak out on me and caused me to lose a villager. I did it all legit and didn't use a spawn egg to get back the lost one. You guys believe me?
Anyway, I started to lay down the ground work. The village is going to be right on top of the slime spawner room.
In fact, on the ladder down to there, I found this little guy climbing the ladders. I didn't know slime can climb ladders. HOW?!
Since I've been spending so much time on the things above here, I believe my house is even in range, the spawn rates have increased.

And, it's done. It's an apartment style with 50 houses.
Of course the villagers had some trouble getting there and they got out of their carts. Good thing my house was in range for them to come in and get captured.

They seem to be liking it so far. Their AL seems to be preventing them from falling. It's getting populated and everything is going fine. Now, what to do next?
