Small Updates

Small Update
The fact is that the time I'm spending on MineCraft is not worth the returns.
I have to remake the Ambrosia map. Overhaul to update devices and ideas.

Day Ten Exploration

I finally got enough leather for the books I need to make enough shelves. This is my first level thirty enchantment of this world.

I want exploring the waters and I hit a new land mass. I'm not sure how big it is yet, however I found a large cave system below it.

Besides the two dungeons I found, there is also a abandoned mineshaft I found with a cave spider spawner directly above another. I might turn it into a experience grinder. I also found melon seeds. Hurray!

Day Seven Performance

Hello everyone, I have to admit that I should have posted something earlier.
I finished the construction of my house, like it?
The abandoned mineshaft yielded no melon seeds, what did I do to get more food? Yes, build an underground mob tower. o.O
I hope that the trap doors would help the mobs to fall down.

This is where I can view the floors in. However, using all my time and wood on a mob tower whose rates are really poor didn't help in my supplies. I was hungry and wood-less.
I wanted melons to feed me, but I suppose I need to build a wheat farm now.
Update 1.3 came out today and I was greeted by lag and more lag. The mobs and chuck loading act just like SMP. I think this is so they can work on both multiplayer and singleplayer at the sane time. However, this is to the disadvantage to the everyday minecrafter! UGH.
To sort out the wood problem I wanted to build an underground tree farm just like I did with my other world. It worked well enough. BUT, I was too lazy and it would have taken a lot of time so I just settled with this. The cobblestone slabs are left-overs from the mob tower and I didn't feel like wasting them. They are there to keep the tree growth under control.
What I like to do is to torch the entire world so no mobs can spawn. I will conquer the land by making the land light and mob-proof.
Here is the farm. I made this really simple and it has solved my hunger issue. When I find the melons I'm going to chop the pumpkins and replace them. I don't need so many pumpkins.
All the current passive mob animals, they all came two by two into a cramped pen.
I need books for the books selves so I can enchant to level 30. I'm almost there.

Day Three Mining

Its been three months since I played on my single player world. This was mostly because of a lack of interest and Ambrosia. I find now that there is never enough time in a day. I'm busy prepping for college and the slow support for my map hasn't helped.

But I'll say that I'm not giving up on my plan to build a city. I'm back on it! I wish to be more active on this blog again.

I found a very large cave and I'm still in the progress of exploring it. I spend a lot of time yesterday at it. I got a little over 30 blocks of iron and 12 diamonds so far. In the first time in a long time, I'm wearing a full set of iron armor!

Unlike my other worlds, I'm playing this on hard, yes, I did die twice so far. I was carrying my diamonds at the time, so I was actually pretty lucky not to have lost them in that magma shown above.

I'm getting my food from apples from the trees I plant, but I'm going to run out soon. My only hope for a good supply is to venture to the mine shaft I found and look for melon seeds.

Development

I felt that I should release some pictures of developing areas to get a glimpse of what's to come.

Ambrosia Update 03-07-12

The construction of the main areas is nearing completion. I can now see the entire path of which the player(s) will take. However, it is still an empty shell and must be filled with loot, mobs, decor, and puzzles. I've been working on the map for about fourteen straight days. Meaning, all the hours would add up to fourteen days.

I've done the math and it seems I've included over one thousand accessible rooms, and only two hundred of them have been filled and completed. I never thought it would be that much when I first started this.

Thank You VoxelBox! (Small Update)

I started using Voxel Sniper and it has been a useful and fun tool. It was the first time I actually made a multi-player server or used plugins. The only reason I made it so I can use Voxel Sniper. I suppose I could have used it when making the Nether portion of the map but it'll take too much time.

In other news, I'm graduating from high school. So, I'll have more time with this. I have worked on this map for about 250 hours and I'm not exactly close to finishing it. The reason why I thought I'll be done earlier is because of the time involved making this.

As the time passed and this map became more of my routine, some parts became more of a chore and the attention to the project withered. I hope you understand.

Starved For Cobble

This is another multi-player map. I'm basically done with War in Haven, it was a great run while it lasted. Honestly, I didn't even make it to a thousand downloads. The recommended amount of players for this map should be over six.

Download Link: Click
The entire map is played on a floating island.
This is the victory monument, the first team to fill it in wins.
It needs to be filled entirely with stone, not cobblestone which means you need to smelt it. Your team will need to mine 880 cobblestone, smelt it, and place it on the monument to win. With a good amount of players on each team, game-play should last a half-hour or more.
The island is entirely symmetrical to avoid any disadvantages the terrain can give to the other team.
This is one of ten vertical cobblestone generators on the island. They are all guarded by spawners, so I wouldn't wait until night-time to claim them. There are five on each team's side.
This is the entrance to the underground mine. The island is approximately 0.6% iron and 0.6% coal. Even if you don't use the mine, you can still get some ores if you dig down.
For a risky bonus, a 5x4 block of pure diamond is about 20 blocks below the center of the island.

Rules, there are none except for the obvious one about no cheating. Meaning no mods.

Also, if things get too crazy, remember you can always surrender.
